Thanks to those of you who did vote, we mods appreciate it, and for the remaining contestants, please consider this your first reminder for the fifth challenge. Entries are due on the 14th and please note that submissions are now open to both movies and television.

Thanks to a request from frodolyn, I've decided to open up Challenge 5: "Want" to television shows as well as movies. Also, to clarify, you can use all different films/shows for your icons or just one you really like. It's your choice. The only rule about content is that it has to be from film and/or TV and the text has to be legible. Good luck everyone!

Challenge 05 is going up a bit early. The elimination from the current round of voting will be posted on Friday night and the deadline for this challenge will not be moved up due to early posting, but it's simpler for my busy schedule to post it now.

As previously mentioned, 05 is a very special challenge. Instead of providing caps, as we have done for the rest of the challenges, you may use any caps from any film -- short, animated, foreign, etc. etc. -- that you would have. The catch is that you MUST use text on it from the song "Want" by Recoil. A post will immediately follow this telling you how you might find this song to listen to.

The Rules

01. You may use any movie or television caps you'd like.
02. You MUST use three words from the lyrics but (1) they may be the same words on all of the icons if you wish and (2) they do not have to be consecutive. You may make up entirely new sentences if you like.
03. You are free to use any textures, stocks, brushes, animation.
04. Blending multiple images is allowed.
05. You must submit at least 3 icons.
06. For every icon submitted under 5, a negative vote will be added to your tally.
07. Reusing images is also allowed. So long as there are 5 different icons
08. Do not post/use/share your icons until the challenge is over and results are posted. You will be disqualified for doing so.

This challenge is meant to push the icon makers still in running towards the one of the most universally difficult parts of icon making: getting text right. The text, therefore, must be readable. Good luck!

And we're voting! Challenge 4's voting is made up by six sets. mangofandango used a skip while tankmachine was eliminated for failing to enter with no skips remaining.

The Rules

1. Please vote for the one set you feel display the least quality in terms of technique and skill. This means things like, text usage, brightness, contrast, sharpness, blurriness, and overall composition (among other things). There is this excellent guide to voting objectively in LIMS. Comments that show personal preference will not be counted.

2. Be thorough and polite. A good rule of thumb: your vote for each set should be at least two sentences long. Use the letter (A E C) of an icon to add more specific comments.

3. Please also vote for your favorite set. A reason is optional, but nice. Favorite votes will receive +1 in the voting.

Challenge #4 has two interrelated movies: Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick.
